Easton Trad Axis

We love Axis Trad arrows. They've been the mainstay of our quivers for years, until Easton decided to discontinue them recently. You can still get the stiffer spines and quite a few pre-fletched are available, but for your 500s and 600s it's not viable to buy them anymore, which is a shame.

Design and Build Quality
The Axis have probably the best faux wood effect that we've seen on a carbon arrow, the graphics are subtle and muted, no bright garish colours and Easton really did a good job designing an arrow that holds up to punishment. We've shot these into everything from concrete to paper and they hold together better than any other arrow apart from possibly the Skylon Bentwood, which appear to be indestructible. These Axis Trads must have a pretty decent amount of carbon in their walls.

Greenies
There was a year where you could only get green versions (see image). I guess there was a bad batch, but it must have been a pretty big batch.
Alternatives
The reason the Trad Axis were so popular with us was that they were a really well rounded arrow. Durability, aesthetics and tolerences were all very good value for money. Which posed the problem of what to replace them with.
The obvious choice was the Easton Axis, the black versions of the Trads, a little lighter but essentially the same arrow, it's a good compromise, though something's missing, not having that nice wood effect in your quiver. The other option is the Easton Legacy arrows, we've not tested them properly but here's hoping that can hold a torch to these classics. Though with tariffs, import charges and everything going on right now, some people outside the US might think it's easier to go with a European or Chinese alternative.
